The flying axe of Francis is a sacred weapon of the barbarians
With the phrase “flying axe”, most of us represent an Indian tomahawk, although this throwing weapon grows and grows before the axe. It turns out that the palefaces at one time masterfully threw axes at the heads of their enemies. The Roman legionnaires were the first to feel it for themselves when they encountered the ancient Germanic tribes, the ancestors of the Franks. The flying axe in later times was called Francis, since it was the Franks who masterfully wielded this weapon.
